It has a 1 low slot advantage, not a two low slot advantage, you cannot say the EANMII is a "low slot advantage" and then ignore the damage bonus on the Thorax as a low slot advantage
You want to compare over tanking a Thorax with tanking a Maller, and I want to compare similar setups. That is the problem. If i stick a bunch of HSs in the low of the Maller and the Thorax it doesnt change the base relationship of the bonus. Ergo, i could set them up in the lows like
Maller: MARII/DC/HS/HS/HS/HS Thorax: MARII/DC/MS/MS/MS
In this situation the Thorax has the slot advantage once you do the math on the amount of extra damage mods compared to extra EAN's each bonus is.
Comparing it in any other way to the 1/1 ratio makes no sense.
Also, Blasters track 60% better than pulse lasers[its even better comparing the smaller weapons], a 37.5% bonus gets them close to autocannons not blasters.
The extra mid slot on the maller[and the removal of the high] doesnt make the ship gank better than it already does, it does make it last a bit longer[if you can fit the right modules], and it does imporve its ability to be a laser boat.. Ammaran BS's need to stay outside of 20km in order to keep their damage advantage at any decent transversal.
And no, you cannot effectivly nano/MWD a maller and keep your cap up to keep shooting at at things, and if you dont have an MWD, you cant escape even the slower ships with MWD's
And once again on top of all that, the maller has (oh my what a big surprise) less cpu. So I seriously would like to know what the devs where thinking when making this ship. 2 more slots then a thorax, lasers that eat more cpu, and then give it less cpu
And indeed, its near impossible to keep enemy ships at your optimal range as amarr. webbers simply don't reach out 20km
